Gecko Stickability!

Story from 'Creation' magazine No. 26 No 1 2004, 'Beyond the limits of human technology' by Jonathan Sarfati B.Sc.(Hons), Ph.D., F.M.
'Dr. Andre Geim, of the University of Manchester, leading a team of scientists from the UK and Russia, prepared a self-cleaning adhesive tape modelled on the gecko's foot. Their tape, with a contact area of only 0.5 cm with a contact area of only 0.5 cm with glass, could bear a load of more than 100 grams. However, the tape is not durable enough to attach and detach more than a few times, unlike the real gecko. The researchers proposed using a more durable material - that which the real ones are made of, keratin.
If they did, then gloves and shoes made of this might enable a real spiderman (or should that be geckoman?) to climb up walls of almost any surface.
'Geckos can stick to almost any surface, so it can even run upside down on a ceiling of polished glass. This is due to the way tiny chemical forces are exploited by tiny hairs called setae, about 1 10th of a millimetre long and packed 5,000 per square millimetre. The end of each seta has about 400-1000 branches ending in a spatula-like structure....This is an amazingly fine structure that the researchers said was 'beyond the limits of human technology'.'

Glyconutrients are also amazing plant-sourced supplements produced by Mannatech and founder Sam Caster. These glyconutrients are essential for optimal health and wellness overcoming the insecticides, pollutants and green harvest etc. Glyconutrients are mostly missing from our diets.

Arthrodpd Fossilized in a Flash!

Taken from 'Creation' magazine Vol. 27 No. 2 2005 by D. Catchpoole, B.Ag.Sc.(Hons.) Ph.D.
Have you ever seen an arthropod (e.g. lobster, scorpion, cockroach) shedding its 'skin'?
You've got to be in the right place at exactly the right time - it's all over in minutes. So you can imagine paleontologists' excitement on finding this fossil of the arthropod Marrella splendens, fossilized at the exact moment of moulting! (Garcia-Bellido, D.C. and Collins, D.H., Moulting arthropod caught in the act, Nature 429(6987):40, 2004)
'It's basically an astounding specimen', said paleontologist Derek Briggs of Yale University.
'The likelihood of capturing such an event is so astronomically small', said Desmond Collins, a senior scientist at the Royal Ontario Museum in Canada, .... 'The discovery of an arthropod in the act of moulting was exciting because it was so unexpected.'
Until now, only moulted skins had been found in the fossil record .........
Another reason this find is important, said Dr. Collins, is that it confirms what paleontologists had suspected; namely, that early arthropods moulted during growth, just as they do today.'

Luckily we don't have to shed our skins so quickly. Glyconutrients produced by Mannatech and founder Sam Caster, uses plant extracts to enhance cell-to-cell communication and overall physical health. Glyconutrients are necessary in every cell in your body but are mostly missing in the modern diet.

Entombed in Amber!

Very interesting to find an fossilised ant in all it's glory complete in amber. Taken from 'Fossil ant found Alive' by David Catchpoole B.Ag.Sc.(Hons.). Ph.D. in 'Creation' magazine Vol 28 No. 4 2006.
How long has this beautiful fossil Gracilidris ant been entombed in amber?
'Conventional dating puts the geological age of such Dominican amber fossils (i.e. amber found in the Dominican Republic. on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean) as being from the upper Oligocene or lower Miocene. That is, around 15-20 million years old. And with this fossil being the youngest (in fact, the only) specimen of this ant ever identified, the genus Gracilidris has thus been presumed to have been, for many millions of years. extinct.
But surprise, surprise! A myrmecologist (a researcher studying ants) who was familiar with the ancient amber fossil happened to recognize its distinctive features in a live worker ant he observed in South America. (Wild.A.L.,and Cuezzo. F., Rediscovery of a fossil dolichoderine ant lineage and a description of a new genus from South America. Zootaxa 1142:57-68.2006)
Evolutionists' surprise at finding such 'living fossils' is understandable, given the 'millions-of-years' they assume elapsed since the specimens were fossilized.'

During the early 20th century, carbohydrates were thought to be compounds used to provide energy only. In the first years of the 21st century, we now know that necessary carbohydrates in the form of glyconutrients are vital for correct structure, function, relationships of cells and all other biological systems. Modern diets are deficient in glyconutrients. We need 8 but typically get 2. Mannatech Inc. with Sam Caster the founder, are the world leaders in producing glyconutrients helping to give a healthy lifestyle.

The Kouprey (Ox) of Cambodia

Taken from 'Creation' magazine Vol. 29 No. 1 2006 Just an Ox- Northwestern University News and Information, 09/2006
'The kouprey - an ox with dramatic, curving horns - was discovered in Cambodia in 1937. It was recognized as a new species, and hailed as one of the 20th century's most famous discoveries. The kouprey (which means 'forest ox' in the Khmer language) is now the national animal of Cambodia, and fears for its extinction saw it become an 'icon' of Southeast Asian conservation.
Now the authors of a genetic study published in the Journal of Zoology 'present compelling genetic evidence that the kouprey may never have existed as a wild, natural species.' They compared kouprey DNA with DNA from a Cambodian wild ox, the banteng. The results show the kouprey may have originated as a domestic hybrid, between banteng and zebu cattle, that later became wild.
"The kouprey has acquired a rather romantic, exotic reputation," said Gary Galbreath, one of the study's authors. "Some people would understandably be sad to see it dethroned as a species."
This finding fits with the biblical creationist view that the various breeds of cattle around the world, including the American bison and the Tibetan yak, notwithstanding the different species names biologists assign to them, are all descendants of the same original created 'kind' (Genesis 1:24-25). DNA studies will reveal species belonging to other created kinds.'

Glyconutrients are generally missing from the human diet although Mannatech's cutting-edge scientists suggest that by adding glyconutrients to the human diet there is an increase in production in one's bone marrow stem cell production. Mannatech Inc., with founder Sam Caster have produced PhytoMatrix a plant-sourced glyconutrient supplement.

Magic Spells go Up In Smoke

Story retold in 'Chronicle of the Bible' by Derek Williams - This story was from Ephesus, c. AD 55-56 -
'Magicians here have watched their spells disappear in a pall of blue smoke in the certain knowledge that they will not be able to conjure them back again. The wizards claim that they have discovered a superior wisdom and even greater power which requires no trickery or incantations. But in order to avail themselves of it they first had to build a bonfire of books to destroy their old spells. According to local estimates, they sent material worth about 50,000 drachmas up in flames - enough to pay about 700 workers for a year.
In a city famous for treating people to tricks, the Christian preacher, Paul of Tarsus, has been doing wonders no one can explain by traditional means. A tent-maker by trade, even his aprons and cleaning cloths are said to have healing powers. He heals, exorcises demons and preaches in the name of Jesus Christ. He claims that the name of Christ, who was crucified over two decades ago but is said to have been raised from the dead, can heal people and bring them eternal forgiveness of their sins.
In one extraordinary scene, some Jewish exorcists of the Sceva family attempted to exorcise a demon in the name of Christ. The man they were trying to cure overpowered them and stripped them naked, claiming that he knew Paul and Jesus but not them. Local magicians realised that the power and name of Christ was to be respected as more than a mantra.'

Evolution Myth Extinct!

Excerpt from 'Creation' magazine -Vol. 29 No. 1, 'Surgeon with a Mission: to make the evolution myth extinct' by Vij Sodera.
Whilst studying God's amazing natural world and being fascinated by biology from a young age, Dr. Sodera found the evolutionary teaching in school and again during his human anatomy studies at medical school, made "little scientific sense to him".
'An organism, when you look at it under the microscope, is so horrendously complicated', says Dr. Sodera. 'If you look at bird anatomy in detail, you find that there are data which show categorically that dinosaurs could not have evolved into birds. Recently, a fossilized bipedal dinosaur (Scipionyx) was re-analyzed under different frequencies of ultraviolet light so that various internal organs stood out - the colon, the liver, the trachea and the rectum. Since a bird has air sacs in its abdomen and its pectoral area, the organs in those areas are pushed forwards rather than sitting against the spine. However, the form of Scipionyx was typically reptilian - it had no air sacs and its internal organs were positioned adjacent to the spine. A careful look at the unique bird lung shows that a step-wise change from reptilian to bird lung is impossible. And the idea that via modifications of a few frayed scales, a dinosaur could take to the air is total nonsense. That fits in with Genesis (of the Bible) where God made animals of different and separate kinds. Dinosaurs, whether they were small and bipedal or like the huge Brachiosaurus, were totally different animals from birds and other reptiles.'
'Human opinions are meaningless unless there is some absolute upon which to gauge the truth of the matter,' says Dr. Sodera.

Aloe's Mystery Ingredients

The mysteries of the awesome active ingredient in Aloe vera has been on the agenda for quite some time. Isolating this mystery has been quite a long time coming. In "The Miracle in Aloe Vera", Dr. Neecie Moore gives an interesting account.
'In the late 1930's, the first serious, scientific attempt to identify the active ingredient in Aloe vera was published (Rose & Parks, 1939). This study, and many that followed, failed to isolate the specific active ingredient(s) responsible for the plant's medicinal benefits. This failure followed the Aloe plant for another 50 years. However, like many mytsteries of life and medicine, clues as to the location of the right path began to surface.........
Research conducted in the 1950's set the stage. Ikawa and Niemann (1951) began isolating compounds in Aloe. They determined that the Aloe gel consisted of mucopolysaccharides (glucose, mannose, uronic acid, and rhamnose). The Niemann work was basic research, intended to simply discover what was present. Although analytical chemistry is not of particular interest to a layman, the major contribution of this work was that there active ingredients in Aloe, and that further study was definitely needed.
The first sign, "This Is the way!" had been tacked to a tree on the right path.'

Arising By Chance?

Taken from Double doctor Doubts Darwinian Dogma by Dr. Don Johnson in 'Creation' magazine Vol 20 No. 2.
Is it correct our well designed bodies need nutrition by chance?
'As a specialist in information science, Dr. Johnson points out that evolutionists have an impossible problem explaining the origin of the information in living things: 'Information cannot arise by chance, no matter how long you have. It just can't. For example, take a die and you roll it 100 times - you are going to get a very complex sequence of numbers, and each one has a probability of one out of six. "Well", some say, "see this complex sequence happened totally by chance. We are very complex and we happened totally by chance also." But I point out, "Yes, but what is the probability of that number pattern happening, because if you accept any result from the roll of the die, every time you roll it the probability is one that you are going to get any result." And therefore one to the one-hundredth power is one. You have a certainty, and a certainty contains zero information. Therefore it doesn't matter how complex the pattern is, you have no information.
'And I point out the difference between data [or complexity] and information. Information is something that is useful that you can use to make predictions that have meaning, and the only way to get that is by intelligence. There is absolutely no way that ever has been shown to produce information other than by intelligence. And therefore, you have life, you have the complexity of DNA structure and the amount of information that it contains, which is something that boggles very intelligent people. It makes absolutely zero sense to say it happened by chance. Things had to have been intelligently designed, they could not have happened by chance.'

Dead Whales: Telling Tales

Excerpt from 'Creation' magazine Vol. 26 No. 4 2004 'Dead Whales:telling tales' by Michael Oard who has an M.S. in atmospheric science and is a retired meteorologist from the US National Weather Service.
'How did over 300 whales, porpoises, turtles, seals, fish, and land animals such as ground sloths and penguins end up being catastrophically buried together?
'We knew it was a great find,' said paleontologist Leonard Brand about the fossil whales he saw in Peru in 1999, 350 km(200miles) south of Lima, the capital. Eagerly he organized a team of creationist research scientists.
Overall, they found 346 whales within a 1.5-km (370-acre) area, buried in an 80-m (260-ft) thick layer of sedimentary rock called diatomite. This layer is part of the Pisco Formation, which varies in thickness from 200-1,000 m(650-3,300 ft).
Diatomite is sedimentary rock containing a high % of fossil diatoms- small single-celled algae, which commonly live near the ocean surface. The layer of diatomite in Peru has 5 to 10% clay and abundant volcanic ash.
Today, when diatoms die, their silica skeletons accumulate on the ocean floor. One gram (0.035oz) of diatomite may contain up to 400 million skeletons. Diatomite sediment normally accumulates slowly - only a few centimetres per thousand years. Even where the rate is higher, such as in some shallow-water areas, accumulation is still slow. .......
In Peru, the fossilized whales and diatoms were well preserved and the whale skeletons were mostly intact.'
'Remarkably, these rapidly buried fossil whales contradict one of the ruling principles of modern geology, uniformitarianism - i.e. rocks formed slowly in the past similar to what we observe in the present. Interpreted according to that principle the whales were buried over a period of two million years about 10 million years ago. However, the fact that 80 m of sediment buried 346 whales within months or weeks (or less) creates a problem for those who believe in millions of years. Where do they put the time? There is nowhere for it in the rocks.'

Blazars at the Beginning of Time

Article in 'Creation' Magazine' Vol. 27 No. 1 2004/5 by freelance journalist and amateur asstronomer Andrew Rigg, Adv. Dip. Min.
'This year stretched the imaginations of many astronomers and cosmologists. They have discovered amazing features at the outer reaches of the universe. And they cause headaches for those with blind faith in naturalistic origin theories -including a big bang about 14 billion years ago. In January 2004, a team of astronomers announced the discovery of a massive and distant string of galaxies. By their own dating methods, they were looking at a structure within only 2 billion years of the universe's inception. Much too early for such a complex structure to have evolved naturally1........'
'In another big-bang-defying discovery, astrophysicists from Stanford University claim to have discovered one of the biggest, most distant black holes ever found1.
The super massive black hole is uninspiringly dubbed Q0906+6930 after the coordinates at which it is found. Astronomers believe it exists at the centre of an extremely distant galaxy2 in the direction of the northern hemisphere constellation Ursa Major (Great Bear). This galaxy is said to have an 'active nucleus'3.
The black hole was detected by narrow jets of high-energy particles being ejected from its poles. Such jets are only visible when they are aimed exactly in the direction of the earth, meaning these types of objects - nicknamed blazars - are only rarely observed.
The big problem presented by this blazar is its size. In big bang term, it is just too big to have formed in the 'mere' billion years since the big bang itself. The scientists behind the discovery have been challenged by its implications, 'How do you take something big enough to hold 1,000 solar systems and as heavy as all of the stars in our Milky Way galaxy put together, and quickly crunch-collapse it [in such a short period of time]?1 Of course size and maturity are not a problem when the Bible, rather than man's fallible ideas, is used as a starting point.
1. Levy. D., 'Blazar' illuminates era when stars and galaxies formed, Stanford Report, 22 June 2004.
2. Although the 'parent' galaxy has not actually been observed, many astronomers believe that supermassive black holes are directly associated with galactic nuclei. ie they are found at the centres of large galaxies. Our own galaxy is believed to have a supermassive black hole, several million times the mass of the sun at its centre. 2. Romani, R.W. Q0906+6930: The highest-redshift blazar.

Should the Sun Shine More Brightly?

Taken from Creation Vol. 26 No. 3 June 2004 'Our Steady Sun' - By Jonathan Sarfati B.Sc.(Hons). Ph.D. F.M..
Dr. Sarfati gives an interesting look at our sun.
'All living things on the earth ultimately obtain their energy from the sun, as do the wind and water cycles. And nuclear reactions power the sun. In theory, as its nuclear fuel 'burns' up, the sun's core should shrink and this would make the reactions occur more readily. Therefore, the sun should shine more brightly as it ages. But this means that if billions of years were true, the sun would have been much fainter in the past. However, there is no evidence that the sun was fainter at any time in the earth's history. Astronomers call this the 'faint young sun paradox'. but it is no paradox at all if the sun is only as old as the Bible says - about 6,000 years.

Evolutionists and long-agers believe that life appeared on the earth about 3.8 billion years ago. If that timescale were true, the sun would be 25% brighter today than it was back then. This implies that the earth would have been frozen at an average temperature of -3oC. However, most paleontologists believe that, if anything the earth was warmer in the past. The only way around this is to make arbitrary and unrealistic assumptions of a far greater greenhouse effect at that time than exists today, with CO2 in the atmosphere than there is today.

Glycomics took many years to be accepted in our modern situation. GlycoScience is designed to provide information on nutritional saccharides - glyconutritionals - that form the scientific inderpinnings for Mannatech's (TM) US product line to US Professionals to learn more about safety and effectiveness of nutritional supplements for patients.

How Does A 'Box' Swim?

David Catchpoole, B.Ag.Sc.(Hons.) Ph.D. discusses How does a 'box' swim? in Creation Magazine Vol. 25 No.3
'.....As Science journal commented recently, 'One look at the aptly named boxfish, and you might expect it to swim as well as a barn would fly.' (Box Swimmers, Science 299(5608):817,2003.)

In reality, boxfish are able to swim extremely smoothly. This is even more remarkable considering where they live - reefs washed up by highly turbulent and unpredictable waters. But even so......boxfish make only the slightest of deviations from their straight swimming paths, as they correct for unseen eddies and turbulence.

'.......How do they so efficiently keep to their swimming trajectory in swirling, surging waters? According to recent research, the boxy shape is a major reason for their 'hydrodynamic stability'. Using a model of the boxfish, Lactophrys triqueter (also known commonly as the 'smooth trunkfish'), in a water tunnel, the researchers found that, as the model was tilted, its boxy shape changed the water flow, setting up counter-rotating currents (vortices). These effectively act as self-correcting forces so that the fish is automatically stabilized.......These finding excited the researchers, who recognized that this same phenomenon is a hallmark of delta-wing aircraft such as the Concorde and the space shuttle,(...generate lift through vortex generation).

This great phenomena of sea life is also apparent in our own human cells when given glyconutrients which were discovered by the scientists at Mannatech Inc. Glyconutrients are vital nutrients with the amazing ability to maintain and balance your immune system helping you to achieve optimum health and prevent even the most insidious of today's killer diseases.

How Old is the Neutron Star?

Item from Creation Magazine Vol. 29 No. 2 By NewScientist bizarre-neutron-star- news service.

'Astronomers are puzzling over a neutron star that 'behaves like it is millions of years old' yet which they say couldn't possibly be that old. They estimate the neutron star (identified as 1E161348-5055) is only 2,000 years old, based on the size of the shell of gas and dust around it. But that doesn't fit with measurements suggesting it is rotating just once every 6.7 hours, because: 'It would normally take a neutron star millions of years to slow down that much.'

In reality, man's attempts to 'measure' the age of things will likely fall wide of the actual age - assumptions can never match the accuracy of an eyewitness account.'

Wouldn't it be strange if this star proved the eyewitness account in the bible in Genesis is true.
That is that the stars were made on Day 4 of Creation week, around 6,000 years ago.

One thing we do know is that the scientists at Mannatech Inc. have proved that Glyconutrients (the necessary sugars) are generally missing from our diet and by adding these Glyconutrients to the human diet there is an increase in production in one's bone marrow stem cell production.

Investigation Shortfall!

The Real Story that ABC’s 20/20 Investigators Missed
ABC’s 20/20 story on Mannatech – Why did ABC not finish their investigation on Mannatech?
By Mark Johnson, June 2, 2007

'...... What about the first place award given to Mannatech's Chief Science Officer, Dr. Rob Sinnott, for the poster presentation he recently showed. Dr. Sinnott’s presentation explained how emerging science is showing that digestive bacteria play an important role in the chemical breakdown, assimilation and absorption of dietary sugars found in our product, Ambrotose.

I guess ABC 20/20 video editors were in a hurry and "just forgot" to put the name and title underneath the short video clip of H. Reginald McDaniel, M.D. (Dr. Reg). Dr. Reg, who was one of the highest paid pathologists (doctor specializing in disease) in the Southwest, was shown speaking about glyconutrients to an audience. I guess ABC sort of wanted the gullible viewing public to think he was just some wacko renegade Mannatech Associate peddling a “sugar pill.”
ABC failed to mention that Dr McDaniel is one of the co-inventors listed on the Mannatech
Ambrotose
patent, that he has been doing clinical research with hundreds of patients over the past quarter century, and that he is the founder of the Fisher Institute for Medical Research'.

Living On Ice

Taken from Creation Magazine Vol 27 No. 1 Focus

Snow doesn't take long to pile up in Antarctica, which is why architects who relish a challenge are being sought by the British Antarctic Survey to design a new operational base.

The existing Halley base is the fifth built on the site since 1956 and is the most successful design to date because it can be jacked up on extendable legs to keep it above an accumulated snowfall of 1.5 m (5ft) per year.

'The first four bases were built on the surface and gradually got covered with snow and ultimately got so deep they became crushed by the weight of ice and had to be replaced', explained BAS director, Professor Chris Rapley. 'People living like troglodytes (cave-dwellers) and having to go down a long vertical shaft to get to their homes was not ideal.' BBC News. 26th Aug 2004.

'This reinforces the point about WW11 planes found in Greenland in 1988 buried under 75 m (250 ft) of solid ice - namely, that layers in ice cores taken from Arctic and Antarctic areas did not need vast timespans to accumulate.'

To live on or under the ice at Antartica, one would require plenty of stamina and nutrition to maintain optimal health under such harsh conditions. Mannatech Inc. products are at the cutting-edge of nutritional science, their glyconutrients (the necessary sugars) are necessary in the human diet .

Big Bang Can't Explain

Note from Creation Vol 26 No. 4 According to BBC News, 31 May 2004

Interestingly we find that most evolutionists and progressive creationists believe that the big bang occurred 13.7 billion years ago. So how big would we expect the universe to be? Even if the universe expanded at the speed of light, then the radius of the universe should be 13.7 billion light-years as an upper limit, so the width of the universe is 27.4 billion light-years, right?
Wrong!
From new data collected from a space probe examining the Cosmic Background Radiation, astronomers estimate the universe is at least 156 billion light-years wide. Actually, it's long been known that the universe was a lot wider than 27.4 billion light-years; this latest research tells us how much wider.

According to researchers writing in the journal Physics Review Letters, the universe must have expanded much faster than light in its early stage. An atheistic physicist, Alan Guth proposed this over 20 years ago - the 'inflation' model. It's no wonder that 33 leading scientists have published an 'Open Letter to the Scientific Community' rejecting the big bang. They refer to 'fudge factors' such as the 'hypothetical' inflation idea, which needs a cosmic density 20 times larger than that required for the big bang to make the light elements.

Coming right back to Earth, Mannatech's Research Scientists are continuing to work in the area of glycobiology, one of the last frontiers of science to be conquered and are at the cutting-edge of a large number of discoveries and therapies. Science has already proven our bodies need Glyconutrients for optimal health.

How Many Ainimals on the Ark?

Skeptics often toss this challenge out, thinking there is no answer, but there is, and a simple one at that. There are two parts to the question - the number of animals and the size of the Ark.

Every species of living creature did not need to go on board. Only the animals that were air breathing. So fish did not go on; they are not air-breathing. Whales and dolphin did not go on either. Although they breathe air, they are not land-dwelling. Fish and whales survive under water, although some die during floods when sediment and other debris contaminate the water. We find many marine fossils that were buried during the Flood.

Insects were probably not collected and housed on the Ark. No doubt many insects hopped on board anyway. So, that reduces the number of species. But how many animals?

Take dogs, e.g. would Noah have taken two Alsatians, two cocker spaniels, two collies, two red setters, etc.? No, he would have needed just one pair of dogs, like the wolf kind, with much genetic variation, somewhat like mongrels today. We know that the different breeds of dogs have been produced from a wolf-like dog, and this only took a few thousand years. That is not evolution that's just variation within the original created kind. The animals have diversified in the 4,500 years since the Flood. The actual number of animals Noah put on board depends on what a biblical 'kind' is.

Woodmorappe in his book Noah's Ark: A Feasibility Study calculated that the number of animals would have been less than 16,000, assuming that a biblical kind is roughly equivalent to the group of animals we call a genus today. However, if the biblical kind is equivalent to the 'family' grouping, then there would have only been 2,000 animals. Probably it was somewhere in between.

The animals would have been easily housed ion small enclosures because most animals are small, on average the size of a rabbit. Even large animals, such as the biggest dinosaurs, began their lives small. In selecting creatures to repopulate the earth, it would make more sense to choose those that were young and healthy, rather than the older, mature ones.

And the size of the Ark? It was huge. It had capacity of over 500 railroad stock cars. enough to carry more than 120,000 sheep. So there was plenty of room on the Ark for the animals, for their food and water, and for Noah and his family.

Twins - One White and One Black

Believe it or not, we have two beautiful little twin girls, born April 2005 in Nottingham, UK. One blue-eyed girl called 'white', while many would label her brown-eyed sister as 'black'.

The twins soon became the focus of much media attention. News reports (The Sunday Mail, Brisbane, 12 March 2006), described how both of their parents have white mothers and black fathers.

These two little girls help answer one of the questions that has troubled many people about the Bible. If there was just one man and one woman at the beginning then where did all the 'races' come from, with their 'different skin colours'? The twins prove that it is simply a matter of genetics - with the right genes, all the different complexions can appear in one generation.

So if Adam and Eve had a middle-brown complexion due to a mixture of 'light' and 'dark' genetic information, similar to these twins parents, all shades from the darkest through to the lightest could be accounted for in their children and future generations.

These beautiful twins also illustrate the biblical truth that we are all related - we all belong to the same family through Adam and Eve, and through Noah and his family too, just as the Bible says.

Giant Bug Mystery

Insect Inspiration Solves Giant Bug Mystery by David Catchpoole - Excerpt from Creation Magazine Vol. 27 No. 4

'Can you imagine a time when mayflies were over five time bigger than today, and the ground was walked by giant ants - their queen bigger than a hummingbird? What about if insects looking somewhat like gigantic flying cockroaches with 43 cm wingspans came into your kitchen? Would you have felt uneasy with gargantuan dragonflies - wingspans as wide as a hawk's- darting around you?

Sound impossible? In fact, all of these examples are known from actual fossils - so at some time in the past such creatures were living on this earth. The largest fossil insect found so far, the dragonfly Meganeura, had a wingspan of 71 cm (nearly 2ft 5 in).

For years, scientists have puzzled over how such giant insects could have existed at all, let alone fly. The problem was lack of oxygen. Biology textbooks have long taught that insects don't breathe - at least, not like we do. Instead of lungs sucking in air via nostrils or mouth, insects have a network of tiny air tubes (tracheae) which open to the outside air via a row of small holes (spiracles) along each side of the body. It was understood that insects don't actively inhale or exhale; so it was taught that air only seeps in and out of the insects' air tubes passively. Obviously, such 'passive diffusion' is a very slow process. And it only works over short distances....

Researchers used new X-ray technology to look inside live insects - which showed that insects pump their air tubes much as humans expand and contract their lungs. ...

Even while at rest, the insects exchanged up to half of the air in their main tubes about every second. As Dr. Westneat leader of a research team observed. 'They are really pumping some gas. (This is comparable with birds and mammals - e.g. humans at rest have a lung ventilation of about 10%, but this may reach 75% during exercise).

This remarkable discovery solves the mystery of how colossal insects could have existed in the past, without the need for higher oxygen levels in the atmosphere.'

The insects on earth are really amazing as well as the human capacity being incredible.
